This week (VI) Euroregion: European Region Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino (did you know?)

The European Region Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino has a Common Representation in Brussels, where, in 1995, the three regions founded the first transboundary office. In 2005 the office moved to the current location in rue de Pascale 45-47, in the heart of the European institutions quarter. On office website you can find information about the tasks, the activities and the events carried out by the office.

One of its events, organized annual is the Alpeuregio Summer School.

The objective of this course is to deepen the understanding of the functioning of the European Institutions and of the most significant European policies. The speakers are mainly officers of the European Union who hold high-level positions.

The nine-day Alpeuregio Summer School is held in English and is aimed at university students and graduates interested in pursuing a European career or using the skills acquired at regional or local levels.

The course will address such topics as: the history of the European integration, the organization, functioning and decision procedures of the European institutions and the major policies of the European Union. In addition, an overview of the lobbying activities at EU level will be offered, not to mention, employment opportunities in European institutions and how to access them.

Where and when?

The course will be held at the Representation Office of the European Region Tyrol – South Tyrol – Trentino in Rue de Pascale 45-47 in Brussels. It will take place from 22nd of June to 2nd of July 2015.

Who can participate?

Thirty candidates from the Land Tyrol and the autonomous provinces of Bolzano and Trento will be selected on the basis of their European academic achievements/qualifications.

The application form must be submitted no later than 15th of April 2015. The criteria for admission and selection of candidates together with the application form to participate in the course and the draft program, will be available on the website of the Representation of the European Region Tyrol – South Tyrol – Trentino in Brussels (http://www.alpeuregio.org) by the end of February 2015.

Certificate of participation

Participants who attend the course will receive a certificate of participation. However, no more than two justified absences will be allowed.

Travel and accommodation expenses

The course is free, whereas travel and accommodation costs will be at the expense of the participants.
